Packers' Head Coach Matt LaFleur wants to "even up" touches between Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams

On wednesday Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that he wants to "even up" touches between running backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams.

What It Means:

LaFleur said this in response to a question about Aaron Jones' career-high 23 carries in Week 2's victory over the Vikings. That volume of touches delighted fantasy owners but it seems like it won't be part of the Packers' game plan moving forward as they aim to keep Jones fresh. Volume has always been the concern for Jones who has shown that he has the talent to be productive. Next up for Jones in Week 3 is a meeting with a Denver Broncos run defense ranked 19th overall by numberFire's power rankings.

numberFire's models project Jones to produce 12.2 FanDuel points in Week 3 with 55.1 yards and .44 touchdowns on 11.7 carries. He is priced at $6,900.

Raiders' Josh Jacobs limited on Wednesday with a hip injury

Oakland Raiders' running back Josh Jacobs was limited at practice Wednesday with a hip injury.

What It Means:

On Monday Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said Josh Jacobs was dealing with a groin injury. It is unclear if this hip designation on Wednesday is related to that or in addition to it, but either way, Jacobs' practice reports should be closely monitored the rest of the week. If Jacobs does play in Week 3 he will face a Vikings' run defense ranked 3rd overall by numberFire's power rankings.

Assuming he plays, numberFire's models project Jacob to score 12.6 FanDuel points against the Vikings with 74.4 yards and .50 touchdowns on 16.9 attempts. He is priced at $6,500.

Chiefs' LeSean McCoy (ankle) misses practice on Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs' running back LeSean McCoy missed practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury.

What It Means:

McCoy suffered the ankle injury in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders. An MRI on Monday determined that there is no structural damage to his ankle, but McCoy is still questionable for a Week 3 meeting with the Baltimore Ravens. If he misses time Darwin Thompson and Darrel Williams could see an increase in touches in Week 3.

numberFire's models project McCoy to produce 8.6 FanDuel points in Week 3 with 37.9 rushing yards and .30 rushing touchdowns on 9.2 attempts. He's priced at $5,500.

Our models project Damien Williams to score 7.8 FanDuel points in Week 3. He is priced at $6,400.

Saints' Head Coach Sean Payton refuses to name Teddy Bridgewater as Week 3 starter

New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton refused to name Teddy Bridgewater as the starting quarterback for Week 3. Payton said that the Saints will go into the game with two QBs ready to go.

What It Means:

Bridgewater took over for Drew Brees following his exit from Week 2's game against the Los Angeles Rams, but with a full week to plan for Brees' absence it appears the Saints may have a different plan in mind for Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks. Even with Brees healthy, Taysom Hill has been routinely involved in the Saints' offense and it wouldn't be a major surprise to see him receive an expanded workload on Sunday alongside Bridgewater.

numberFire's models expect Bridgewater to produce 14.4 FanDuel points in Week 3 with 233.7 yards and 1.12 touchdowns on 21.1 completions. He is priced at $6,800.

Panthers' Cam Newton (foot) does not practice on Wednesday

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton missed practice Wednesday with a foot injury.

What It Means:

Newton continues to struggle with a left foot injury he suffered in the preseason and then re-aggravated in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Newton is unable to go in Week 3 the Panthers will turn to Kyle Allen at quarterback against a Cardinals defense that has allowed 619 passing yards and 5 touchdowns through two games.

Assuming a limited performance in Week 3 and a full return to action in Week 4, our models project Newton for 3,550.1 yards and 22.4 touchdowns on 325 completions over the rest of the season.

Devin Singletary (hamstring) misses Bills' practice on Wednesday

Buffalo Bills' running back Devin Singletary (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Singletary's absence from practice on Wednesday doesn't come as a surprise but it isn't a reassuring sign for his Week 3 availability against the Cincinnati Bengals. Bill's Coach Sean McDermott labeled Singletary as day to day. If Singletary misses time, Frank Gore would likely see an increase in his workload.

Assuming a limited role in Week 3 and a full return in Week 4, numberFire's models project Singletary for 421.4 yards and 3.2 touchdowns on 96.3 attempts over the rest of the season.
