New York Yankees' outfielder Aaron Judge underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Monday.

What It Means:

The American League Rookie of the Year underwent a loose-body removal and cartilage clean-up. Judge was said to be battling a shoulder issue in the second-half of the season so this isn't out of the blue and the right fielder is expected to make a full recovery for Spring Training.

Judge finished the 2017 season with an American League-best 52 home runs and the second-highest OPS in the MLB (1.049).

Houston's Jose Altuve named the 2017 American League MVP

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was named the American League's Most Valuable Player on Thursday.

What It Means:

Altuve helped lead the Astros to their first World Series win as they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers. A five-time All-Star, the second baseman finished third in the MPV voting last year. Altuve received 27 of 30 first-place votes with Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees earing 2 and Jose Ramirez of the Cleveland Indians getting the other.

Altuve led all of MLB with a .346 batting average while posting 24 home runs, 81 RBI, 112 runs scored, 32 steals, and .405 wOBA.

Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton wins NL MVP

Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton won the National League MVP Award.

Bellinger hit 39 homers with 97 RBI, 87 runs scored, and 10 steals while batting .267/.352/.581 with a .380 wOBA in 548 plate appearances.
